Default Updated CDR220 - Faceplate mod light intensity??

Updated question:

Those of you with the CDR220 faceplate mod...how is it at night? Too bright?

After installing my CDR220, which took all of 3 minutes, the display is set to a single brightness adjustment and does not adjust with the dimmer rheostat...

One trick for future installers...use a long screwdriver to reach under the dash behind the ashtray to route the wires then push the faceplate in...then you're molsen golden.

I'm cheap, what can I say...if there is something that can be done I would rather spend the $100 and take my wife out for dinner.

TIA

Brett

Simply. No. You need to send it in. Unless you want to **** your head a an odd angle to see the screen. Becker will reverse it to orange background with black numerals/letters instead of its current setting of black background with orange numerals/letters. Also the CDR 220 is vehicle specific meaning the angle is designed for the car (i.e. Boxster) that's what its hard to read the display. This is all according to the folks at Becker. I did send mine in and it came back perfect and very easy to read at all angles.

The orginal question was in reference to making the CDR-220 work without doing the faceplate upgrade. Hence my response. What the OP just put up is foreign to me. I need a beer.

Instead of starting a new thread I just edited the one above...and poorly at that.

Previously I read the faceplate change makes the faceplate too bright at night...any feedback on that?
