Default Latest thoughts on tires? I need to order this week..

For my RS Speedlines. Looking for daily driver tires, not track stuff. Save that for other wheels.

I hope for quiet ride and decent treadwear, and predictable breakaway.

I learned my lesson using track stuff on the street. Too fast, and not as much fun.

Any thoughts?

Thanks guys!!

Cost is sort of a motivation, but I really, really hate tire noise. If tires start to cup and get loud after a few thousand miles I go nuts.

I'm sure this is part due to alignment, but I know that some tires are prone to it.

Sumitomo HTRZIII. Great street tire, wears well (4K on mine, still 7/32 on rears), quiet so far. I've also run Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions on my MY02s and they're pretty decent too (awesome in the rain) but more expensive. If you choose Bridgestones, I'd stick to the NB stock width of 265/35. Bridgestones in general seem to be a bit wider in any given size.

I had the Sumi HTRZII's and got 14K miles on the rears and then went to the III's and barely got 8K on the rears. The III's are also more expensive and performed no differently on the street than the II's. So I went back to the II's and am very happy. On my 17" Cup rims I can replace all four for $350 shipped to my door. You can't beat that.

Me too running the Sumi HTRZIII...love 'em.

If they get too popular they may raise the prices!

10,000 miles on bridgestones on 17 inch cup wheels still very quiet and show very little wear. I would definitely buy again.

I believe this is a consensus.

Thoughts on size? (18" * 9" and 10")

Buying tires is such a hassle. I think you should save yourself the headache and just sell the RS Speedlines to me....

Assuming appropriate offsets, then IMHO 245 or 255 for the fronts and 285 or 295 for the rear.
