Advice on upgrading HiFi cassette to in-dash CD
Hi All -
I did the usual pre-post search but couldn't figure this one out... I've currently got the Porsche stock HiFi Am/Fm/Cassette (CR-210??) with 6-disc changer (CDC-3). Everything all works fine, but I wanted to find out what my options are for an easy upgrade to an in-dash Porsche OEM CD player while keeping the 6-CD changer.
I'd like to listen to my stuff in the changer while still giving the kids an option to hear their tunes when riding with me. Having an Aux input is not a requirement (actually plan B is do nothing since we've got a cassette adapter for their iPod).
If upgrade involves using wire cutters/strippers, then I'm not going to do it... I want a plug-in solution that keeps it all 'OEM' (just a personal choice thing).
It appears the answer is to track down a CDR-210 unit... Is that correct, or are there other Porsche units I should consider too?
Thanks in advance for your advice on this!

About the only other option considering your requirements is to go with the CDR 220. They're plug and play, unfortunately they're getting harder to find. I expect I'll be doing the same thing in a few weeks.

This is where I found my CDR220: http://www.beckerautosound.com/
I couldn't find a listing on their site but give them a call.
In dash CD, I chose to eliminate the trunk mounted changer and go with i-pod connectivity. You can't have i-pod and changer, one or the other onlly, but the in dash will always function. I like the OEM look and the sound is god enough for my ears.

Also check
http://www.swstereo.com/stereos.php
www.crutchfield.com (they probably have harnesses to interface with factory wiring).

Edit: Bart beat me to it by less than 1 min.
