Is Mobil 15W50 recommended?

I hate to add to the oil issue...but...
My only gripe with Brad Penn is they don't add any friction modifiers to their oil. After reading some other people who have switched from M1 to Brad Penn comment their M64 does not seem as smooth has me a little apprehensive on switching.

According to the M1 data in this sheet, regular ol' 15w-50 has very acceptable ZDDP levels.
So... what has all of the fuss been about?
It is SM rated, but it's Zn and P levels are high.
I must have missed something. Or, more likely, went brain-dead trying to keep up with the last 4 or so oil threads

You may call me anytime to discuss oils as I really don't wish to subject myself to flaming on this,... (Its already happened in the past).
That said, I would tell you with any hesitation that 0w-40 is totally inappropriate for any air-cooled 911 engine unless the outside air temps are consistently below freezing.

I' ve passed the last few hours reading the "ANYTHING NEW ON THE MOBIL 1 FRONT?" thread... I wish I did it before, but I usually spend my time on this forum in the 964 area...
Where I live (Italy) it's quite impossible to find Brad-Penn or Swepco, easier to get Motul... any good?

Motul is a superb product and I'd recommend a 15w-40 or 15w-50 (for hot climates). We use the 300V for most applications around here.

Mobil 1 15W50 Oil
I was told by my Porsche Tech. Master Mechanic that he recommended this for all oil cooled 964/993 series 911's. I will stick to his recommendation.

I prefer Mobil 1 15w/50 and its been the oil put into the vehicle since day one.
Of course, maybe that could change. I was once a KY user and switched to Astroglide because of better consisitancy, reviews, and feedback.

By the way, if you think $44 is reasonable, 4.73 liters of Mobil 1 15W-50 cost me US$22 at Wal-Mart in the US. I bought 6 jugs while there.

104k miles, no major work. Still running tops and tight. One quart every 3,000 miles.
With the changes to these oils, however, could you reccomend another indie for my future oil changes? PM if you like.
I don't want to DIY oil changes on this car.

This seems very pertinent to me. In previous discussions the concerns were with M1 reformulating the 15W-50 and significantly lowering ZDDP levels.
This info seems to disagree with that.
Here are the Zn and P stats from the data sheet:
Mobil 1 15W-50
P= 1200
Zn= 1300
Boosted, higher viscosity, fully
synthetic formula designed for
performance vehicles.
HT/HS applications.
Racing and Flat tappet
applications.
SM Rated
It is rated SM... I am no oil engineer but maybe that is another factor. I thought the rating was a result of the formulation, not the cause of.
