Default GT3 Tek 993 RS Polyurethane front splitters?

These folks say they now have 993RS front splitters, with 993 RS side skirts to follow, all offered at significant savings over Porsche factory parts prices. Maybe they'll come up with a 993 RS tail in the near future.

They are offering a body kit for $1,300 which looks to include the splitters and the soon to be available side skirts. Polyurethane is sweet. I have had my 993 RS factory splitters for 5 + years, 5+ years on the track with a few high speed offs...no damage to the splitters.

It would be great to have a US source for 993RS side skirts in polyurethane.

Some Rennlister had posted a while back that they were soon to be offering these products, maybe it is the same outfit?

I would hope that Porsche does not care about someone using their GT3 name. They can be very aggressive defending what they perceive to be theirs.

Performance Products sent me a catalog the other day that had what they claimed to be PU splitters in there. I would guess it is the some ones.

Is $499/pr cheap?

I just pinged these guys to see what they have done for Swift Engineering as they claim to have ten years experience in working with us on our Champ Car and Atlantic car programs. I think I know who they are.

Default Distributors

They say that Performance Products is a distributor...Automotion is a division of Performance Products...ergo, the mystery is solved!

I didn't see Bill Verburg's name...I'll look again. They probably know his status on Rennlist (A Demigod!). Most of us will listen to Bill on products.

$499 seems like a good price to me...I don't even see them listed separately on Gert's site: www.carnewal.com Gert is pretty much exclusively Porsche products. Love doing business with Gert.

However if the factory price is close, I'd buy factory (I did!) for the Porsche name and part number. When the factory price is outrageous, example 993 RS tail, I'd go to MA Shaw or Getty Design. But that's just my opinion.

What else do you get for the extra $400.....

Their site says the RS splitters are $399 and the side skirts are $499. In my world this adds up to $898.... Are they going to have an RS wing at ~ $400?

Just ordered the splitters. BufordTJ on here has them already on his car. They look great. I can't wait to pick mine up.

If you know who they are, what is their quality like. Are they as good as they claim to be?

Smile Mystery Solved...now we know who they are...

The phone number and fax for GT3 company is the same as Better Bodies in San Ysidro, CA Not too clever on their part if they are looking to re-establish a brand.

Tel: (619) 690-5081

Fax: (619) 690-1457

No wonder Better Bodies is a distributor. Duhhhhhhhhh!

They are off to a **** poor start IMO

using my car for advertising, which has only factory parts is false advertising if nothing else

You should give them a call and let us know. Some of the "Boys" already have their "GT3" splitters and like them.

GT 3 implication that the factory splitters are brittle or less than outstanding is just not true. As I look back, I have had my factory 993RS splitters from Gert for 7+ years. They are like new, well almost except for some minor sand blasting from track work.

As a sign of goodwill they should give you a full set for using your car in their ads.

Then you should auction / raffle them off on rennlist and donate the proceeds to Rennwish......

They have replied to my questions [about using Swift as a reference] but have failed to actually answer my question. As of now either myself or our purchasing cannot find any record of doing any work for us. Wow.
