Default OT: Need a flat for 4 of us in New York

Hey Guys,

Do any of you New Yorkers or visitors have a good recommendation for a room that we can get 4 of us in? We are taking our Goddaughters to the city Oct 2nd to 6th.

I don't have any great insight but I bet there are some of you that really know the city.

Thanks!

I have a friend in real estate up there. This isn't really what he does, but I can check with him. How long will you be there?

Sorry I misread that. I see the dates. Short notice, but I will get my buddy's thoughts on it (who, btw, has a 993 - not really an enthusiast, though).

Thanks...I know it is short notice...yikes!

I have been looking at VRBO and have found a number of available places in Midtown.

I will also look at some of the others and if I find one I will post it up to see if anyone knows the area.

Thanks!

I live in Midtown so let me know the area. You should be fine in the majority of Midtown.

All depends on what you are looking for.... I've put international visitors with kids in the Park Central on 56th and 7th. They run ~$99 a night. Nice, clean, close to park, times square, museum of natrual history, cute restaurants for kids ( winnie the pooh, tea house, mars 2011, etc). For trendy... take a look at the W, Time, or Box Tree. For off beat look at the Flathotel. For a pampered stay the St Regis or Peninsula ( nice roof top) are favorites.

Enjoy the The City!

Looking at a unit at 100 W 58th that was on Craigslist.

Look pretty good so here are the questions:

How can I substantiate the person on the other end?

Is there really an address of 100 W 58th...I am looking at Google maps and street view.

Thanks!

100 w 58th would be on the corner of 6th Ave. A block south from Central Park - nice area. It's a legit address. As far as the person renting it, I can't help you with that...

I advertise on craigslist about 1x a week and run a vacation rental business on by using craigslist, vrbo, homeaway, tripadvisor and flipkey. I have the # 1 rated and reviewed vacation rental property out of 700+ listed on tripadvisor.com in Park City, UT.

And a video to back everything up in still shots.

I ask the same question about the people on the other end who inquires about my property. I back myself up with 40 references and reviews on well known websites. Can the person on the other end do the same?

Would you rent from me if you based on what you read from 40+ other people on 2 of the worlds most viewed and utilized travel tools on the internet today?

If my potential guest is a video conferencing user, call me in HD at 64.47.55.148 up to speeds of a T1 and we can chat in HD video.

Thats how I roll!!

I think you're making it way too complicated. Get on the phone, talk to the person, get a feel for them and go from there. Just cause it's New York doesn't mean you'll necessarily get shafted Only 90% of the time (JUST KIDDING!!)
