Thanks for the info on that Viggo. Learn something new everyday. Now to really confuse things, the GT2 originally had 430BHP and later, in the 20 "EVO" cars, 450BHP. These were not the same as the "Power Kit" Turbo cars were they?

I don't know about the EVO GT2's but AFAIK, the GT2 originally had the WLS2 450hk setup. Maybe the GT2 had different cams though I'm not 100% on that. The ROW 993 TurboS however, had exactly the same components as in the "WLS2" kit I described before. The US TurboS had 430hk. Whether that is the WLS1 kit or some other version of the latter I don't dare to say. I think it did not have the KKK24's but I'm not sure.

I hope that this thread doesn't die w/o full documentation of X51

I wonder what you mean by full documentation Bill, all is relevant.

I am not challenging you, because I don't care to do so.
I am sharing info with all.
If you take it as a challenge, I never care to prove anything to anybody here. So you can wait ...

Called Porsche yesterday, first answer I got is two alternatives where X51 on 993 is documented.
One is what they call M-codes in their Vaudia intranet system. It is the system where they put your VIN, and all data and options on car is available. This is how it looks:

X09 Konsole mit Sonderleder
X17 helles Wurzelholz Armaturenbrett (Standard bei Y59)
X18 dunkles Wurzelholz Armaturenbrett (Standard bei Y60)
X19 Leder lower Armaturenbrett
X24 dunkles Wurzelholz Triptronic Wahlhebel
X25 helles Wurzelholz Triptronic Wahlhebel
X26 Lenkradbezug Sonderleder
X28 helles Wurzelholz Lenkrad (Standard bei Y59)
X30 dunkles Wurzelholz Lenkrad (Standard bei Y60)
X31 helles Wurzelholz Handbremshebel (Standard bei Y59)
X32 dunkles Wurzelholz Handbremshebel (Standard bei Y60)
X34 farbige Zifferblätter mit Lederumrandung der Instrumentenringe
X40 Lederbezogene Sonnenblenden mit Beifahrer Leselampe
X43 Lederbezogener Rahmen der Schalter/Mittelkonsole
X46 Aluminium Tiptronic Wahlhebel
X47 Schalthebelknauf Carbon/Alu/Leder
X48 Carbon Tiptronic Wahlhebel
X51 Leistungssteigerung (3,8 l Hubraum)
X52 CD Box Konsole für 5 Discs
X53 CD Box Konsole für 8 Discs
X54 Ovale Auspuff- Endrohre
X56 Griff Handbremse Carbon/Alu/Leder
X56 Carbon Armaturenbrett (Standard bei Y04)
X57 Carbon Türverkleidungen (Standard bei Y04)
X68 Fahrraumabdeckung (Cabriolet)
X70 Türschwellerabdeckungen, Metall mit Schriftzug
X71 Aluminium Zifferblätter
X76 Kippschalterpanel
X77 Carbon Lenkrad (Standard bei Y25)
X85 964 3.6 Turbo S Flachschnauzer
X86 helles Wurzelholz, Türverkleidung Panel
X87 dunkles Wurzelholz, Türverkleidung Panel
X88 Leistungskit für 964 Serie 3.6 Turbo.
X89 Radkappen mit farbigem Porschewappen
X92 964 3.6 Turbo S Flachschnauzer Spezial Frontspoiler Option
X93 964 3.6 Turbo S Flachschnauzer Spezial Heckspoiler Option
X95 lackierte Bremszangen
X97 Aluminium/Leder Schaltknauf
X98 Aluminium/Leder Handbremsgriff
X99 964 3.6 Turbo S Flachschnauzer hinten Lüfteinlässe in der Stosstange

but there is no Fancy Porsche Header when they print the screen for the sceptic.

Next alternative, is the original Window Sticker as in the US, where the X51 option is mentioned on the sticker. Not everybody in Europe keeps this, but they will get me one.

All I will get here is concrete Porsche genuine information that their 3.746 or 3.8 litre engine versions in Europe between 1994-1997 on the 993 was option code X51.
l am doing this for the others to know, I do not have time for challenges.
So don't wait for a 108 pages formular on X51 in 6 different languages, thank you.
the good thing is that I am still laughing...

Good to hear. When it comes down to it, everyone on this forum is here because they're enthusiastic about 993s. Thanks to everyone for all the legwork.

, ok so now we know that X51 was a 3.8 n/a upgrade for years '95-98.

I posted parts #s and a partial parts list for 2 different 3.8 n/a upgrades and Jason posted some as well.

Full documentation is just that, all the parts info
I have all the manuals & parts books for all the 993(including GT1 & GT2 but am missing RSR and most of Cup), 996, 997 race and street cars so I know what parts were used on what cars.

It goes to show that there really is no "standard" car when it comes to Porsche. Additionally, the history and documentation is also a little shy on details sometimes.....

update:
not there yet, but getting closer

I have been told that the 993 3.8 l engine factory upgrade X51 was also known internaly as code 1 or WLS 1 (Werks-leistungssteigerung)

At porsche, in their IT system, car version code finishing by 1 is version with 3.8 L
It takes a long time but I will go back
Notice the different 993 versions, different years, parts and part SUPPLIER (I like this one), etc
more to come

This is of intresting. It seems that the part number is the same as the RS version for 96- X51

But I could not find the X51 option in cars -95
