Default EVO Uprights vs. ERP tie rods

Okay,

So, all this talk lately has got me thinging. Also, I have these fantasies of racing in H Stock (prepared), so, EVO uprights are out.

So, how much difference is there in performance between the two?

actually the ERP ties rods only work with EVO uprights.... They just give more adjustability, to really fine tune the bumpsteer out...... Besides they are illegal too.....

If you find a legal solution to reduce bumpsteer, please let me know... I don’t think there is much we can do. The only mod allowed is spacers under the rack, while that may work on older 911's I don’t think that is applicable to 993.. but anyone fell free to correct me here...

Under the "prepared " section, point B, it says spacers to adjust the height of the tie rod at the steering arm are allowed. Not the same thing?

In the Stock section point C is spacers to adjust the height of the steering rack and pinion are allowed.

Bob,

As noted above, EVO tie-rods have a different angle and are meant to be used with EVO uprights, only.

There are aftermarket solutions to facilitate bump steer corrections, as needed .

These are custom-made outer tie-rods that are adjustable for bump-steer using spacers or precision-ground washers.

One can use stock, RS, or EVO inners (no rubber) as desired.

And where would one source such magic components? would a certain place in Oregon carry them?

I believe so.

Remember, you are not altering the steering geometry; you are correcting it.
