Not necessarily--check out Curve Lover's thread on his car--he has a great mounting solution with no drilling into the fascia.

I too am doing this mod and have located a turbo bumper from Octanemotorsports for $600, and another oem on ebay for $1100, does anyone know anything about this less expensive duraflex bumper?
