Default Heresy I admit, but... I need a Ferrari

I don't know why our hero doesn't drive a 993. He drives a Ferrari 360 Modena. He's obviously misguided but that's just the way it goes. It's featured prominently in a picture I'm working on. I need to record a comprehensive library of sound that will cover every aspect of the machine. It would be great if I could do it in the Bay area where I'm based. I did one session in the desert outside of LA but the wind did me in on exteriors except for some laps at Willow Springs. I need exteriors and another shot at interiors.

Does anybody have Ferrari connections in the San Francisco Bay Area? Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

R. Beggs

Go on over to ferrarichat.com and look in their regional sections. It is an active group of good folks, like this place.

You might want to talk to Robin before you take the leap -- he knows more about Ferraris than anyone on this board, specifically the Modena and can provide lots of valuable info.

My impression is that they can be fun for a while but you'd better not care that much about inherent quality and you'd better have lots of money and not mind parting with it.

If you stay away from the F1 dual clutch gearbox you'll be better off.

My next car to add to the 993 stable is an F355.

You can pick up a really nice 355 for a very reasonable price IMHO. Ruf sold a spider for the upper $40s a couple of weeks ago...........pretty tempting.

I saw a red 599 GTB today following a white 430 and almost ran off the road! The 599 is most definitely the business!!!!!

Yes, the F-cars are intoxicating, until you work on one Kinda puts a damper on ones enthusiasm for the breed. The do sound great though!!

I appreciate the info despite it's irrelevance and it's fun to see you guys jump at what appeared to be bait. I'm not buying a Ferrari, I'm recording the sound of one. Not nearly as expensive a proposition. What's more, the production will pick up the tab

the f1 is not a dual clutch up to the 430. I think the new california is however.

That is correct about the single clutch in the 360
