Default New Member. LF: 97-98 C2S

hello guys! new member here and first post. i was previously a '95 993 owner but have sold that car long time ago. never owned another porsche sports car again as nothing new really interest me (sometimes the GT3RS does tickle me but still not enough). what i still crave for is another 993. it just doesn't go away, but a widebody version this time.

initially i thought a 993 turbo would be the way to go. but now it seems i fancy a C2S more because of its RWD setup and cost considerations, hence my search. perhaps the others can give me leads and suggestions.

i'm looking for a MY 97-98, 6 speed, C2S. i don't need a garage queen or extremely low mileage one. something that is well cared for, well maintained and reasonably priced. i prefer arena red, white or guards red but will consider other colors as well at the right price.

i saw a car on the net that is almost spot on to what i want except i think the price still needs to go down. any comments on this car or leads to others will be greatly appreciated

http://www.chequeredflag.com/detail-...s-3360489.html

i plan to do basic mods to the car in the future: wheels, suspension, brakes, exhaust and some exterior pieces. car will be used occasionally. just miss having a 993 in the garage.

thanks for the help.

Welcome. Great choice in car to look for. If I didn't love owning a cab, that's what I'd probably go for also. The one you cite seems a bit high for the care/condition of the car. You might check with "flyingchappy" who bought a white c2S recently to find out what he might have looked at already. Are you in AZ? Your screenname suggests you might be.

10k in recent work, and decent mileage has to count for something...take a look at what people here are asking for their similar condition narrow body cars and add 10k.

10k in work means nothing if it needed 15k.

That makes sense. It would then put it in the high 30's which seems about right but who knows what cars are finally going for in private sales.

I've seen that C2S on Ebay for as long as I've been looking @3-4 months. That should say something as to where the market currently lies.

another option....

you could always open your search up for a c4s as well if its' the widebody you're looking for. you'll get the bigger brakes and the turbo suspension on the upside and you can always do the 2wd conversion for very little money. plus, the process is reversible.

buy my car so i can buy a turbo-its got a painted c2s grill................

thanks for the offer. but i'd really rather have a straight C2S. good luck with your sale.
