Default Long Overdue-- 18' Turbo Twists

Finally put the Turbo Twists on my C2S. Even though most of the widebody cars were ordered with this option, for some reason the original owner opted for the 17' Cups with spacers. The Twists look much better, especially on the wide body cars. Also, the hand painted OEM center caps are beautifully done. Comparison pics below:

Looks great, now you need to lower it. I forgot how high up US spec suspensions were on 993s.

Nice upgrade and I love that color combo (one of the few exteriors I really like with cashmere). My CS was also originally a 17" wheel car, but the first owner switched them out pretty quick. I think the 17s were somewhat common on the CS because several of the cars I looked at did not include the 18s on the build sticker, but most had them.

I'd agree with the others, next step is to lower it or maybe add wide oval exhaust tips (another must-have upgrade on a wide body in my opinion).

Thanks...

But guys, it IS lowered. LOL.

I have RoW M030's with Bilstein HD. When EPE installed new suspension (January '08) I asked them not to make the car too low, so they set it towards the higher range of the setting. Didn't want to go for too much of a "low rider" look and I don't track it.

Car feels totally planted and a huge difference from the US/Monroe set up.

Car does have the wide ovals. They came factory as part of the motor sound package...

Maybe just a wee bit lower then. Looks great.

Perhaps....

My next project will be to replace the windshield...The original is slighly pitted and too squeeky at this point...

This will be the last project I think I'll do for a while...I've done lots of work basically restoring the car to showroom condition and the check book needs a rest...lol

Since I bought the car 3 years ago (with 29k miles, 34K now), I've done:

-- Top end rebuild
-- RoW M030/ Biltstein set up
-- Turbo twists w/hand painted crests
-- Front and Rear bumper respray
-- Full concours detail and paint correction to remove swirls (40 hr project by professional detailer, chronicled on the Rennlist Concours board).
-- Full leather (seat) restoration to repair bolster wear to factory condition
-- Replaced stone guards on fender flares.
-- replaced all interior plastic parts which show any cracking/wear, including door jams, seat inserts
-- replaced weather stripping
-- Repair door check strap
-- Recondition special grained leather on doors and dash (which came standard with S versions)
-- Repair headliner as it attaches to sunroof.
-- Reglue/restore leather door panels

The windshield will be the next (and last) project for a while I think.

Sorry, my mistake, must be the angle of the pic. For what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the motorsound package did not include the wide oval tips, but someone must have added them.

It did according to the original window sticker

EDIT-- I looked and it's not on the windw sticker; it might be on my COA....I know I once confirmed somewhere that the stainless wide ovals were part of the motorsound package.

My '97 C2 NB Ocean Blue/Classic Grey has Motor Sound and wide ovals too.

Very interesting.

There must be some inconsistency in the option packages within the 97 model year or I'm confused. I've got the motorsound on my 97, but it did not originally come with the wide tips based on some old pictures I have. They were also not listed on my window sticker.

Maybe I don't know what wide ovals are. Here are a couple picss, one of my car with what I believe are wide oval tips. The other I believe is a standard tip. I know I looked at a lot of cars (more than 10) with the motorsound package that had what I think are standard tips when I was hunting for my car.
