Here are the pics I took today. Still waiting on a reply from the owner. No news as of yet. If I do get the car to be fair I will post the completed pics and all the facts as I know them. First come first serve on the sale. There have been numerous PM's and I will also PM back anyone who sent me one with the first come first serve format on the sale. But lets not put the cart before the horse the owner may not sell. I did look inside the owner's manual and there were a ton of receipts. I did not go through them because the car is not ours yet so you have to be respectful of the owner. So here are the pics and I hope I get the car it will make a nice C4S for someone. One thing I did not see yesterday is that the driver's side door check strap is broken. Common failure.

Mike,
not for nuthin' but with your reconditioning skills why not clean this up and flip it yourself? you could make this look showroom condition in a week
are you apprehensive about selling it with what sounds like -albeit minor- water history or just too many projects?

I was contacted by a friend I buy cars with so I was not the "first chair" in the deal so my friend (car dealer) wants a quick flip. He knew I had outlets for this type of car so we went 50/50 on it. If I were the 1st call I would spend 2 weeks on the car and make it look like a new penny, but I don't reallly have a call in the matter. It will be detailed, not by me though. That is how I found out about the car and the reason for the sale format.

Definitely worth 'repairing' to the point that you restore it back to looking like a 'new penny'.
You might have to wait a while, tho', considering the economy - to get the price that it's (really) worth.
'Water damage history' to any car - tends to make folk run, not walk. We all, still, have images of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina indelibly stored in our brain-cells.
Good luck tho'.

I can see it now Mike: Grey sport seats with MB painted backs (or Recaro PPs, same tretment), PSS10s (KW V3s maybe), either BBS RSGTs or RH 3.6 wheels, and a thorough going over that you`re so skilled at. If you`re still not feelin it might I suggest the small, non-CS, RS tail. I know you like some tail on your 993s.

Tim:
If the car were mine (C4S that is) The TT tail I have on the Rivi Blue cab would come off and be placed on the C4S. I would take the original decklid from the Riv Blue cab and put an RS tail on it. Not that I have given it any thought mind you. I keep telling myself RESIST MOFFAT AT ALL COSTS!!!!!

Why is the owner of the water damaged car pouring his own money into it to fix it, to keep the ding off the CarFax and then sell cheap to you (Mike) and your partner? That's a double hit.
Why not let the insurance company pay for the water repairs, take the CarFax ding, and then sell at a discount. Only one hit in this scenario.
Nice car! Great opportunity for the right buyer.
GL with the transaction.

1. We buy the car the way it sits and fix it ourselves for "X" amount of money.
2. We buy the car completed for "X" amount of money
The seller can choose the route that best suits them.
The reason for not claiming it as a insurance claim is that it REALLY makes the car worth a ton less than what we offered IMHO and we are not interested in the car if it has an insurance claim attached.
