Default Huntington Car Show/Concours **with pix**

Only in its second year, the Huntington Car show took place last Saturday out on Long Island. This was one of the few weekends, that I can remember in ’09, where, thankfully, it didn’t rain. On the flip-side, it was almost unbearably hot but the organizers stepped up and provided free beverages as well as a BBQ. This year, attendance was up some threefold so the judges certainly had their work cut out for them.

Unlike other shows, where cars are divided up by ‘year’, ‘model’ etc. and so are judged among their peers, in this show all the cars (regardless of whether they were ‘old’ or ‘brand spanking new’) competed for exactly the same (one) prize.

Yes, I took pix, enjoy:

P.S. And…. ummm …yes, I managed to take 1st place for Best Interior.

Speaking of 'good luck' ...when I posted this ...it was post number "993".

Hi,
Thanx much.
Yep, Iris blue (code = L39V)
I do all the work myself, from being on my back removing cosmoline from underneath the car -- to making sure the back-side of the rear-view-mirror has no fingerprints.
I DO use Matt's products (detailingdynamics.com) - and have been using them, from day 1, when I got the car 4 years ago. (And, no, I don't get them for free.)
One of the products I use that is NOT "DD" - is Meguiars Clay Bar. I usually clay the car around March of each year "in preparation" for mucho cleaning and waxing during the subsequent months.
I actually enjoy doing the car - I have the 'tunes' cranked (usually Van Morrison/Steely Dan/Eric Clapton/Dire Straits/Human League) in the 'background' and I just 'zone myself out' for the day. Wifey is kind enuf to periodically check on me and bring sandwiches n' a Coke...
:-)
