Not from the Carmel /Monterey week, but from the Open House at Tru-Speed we attended on the way up to Carmel. Robert just loved this car and inquired if it was for sale. The answer: No, but Yeah. Everything is for sale. What does that mean? lol

I can see me in this car.... in the passenger seat screaming at Robert to slow down!!!!!
Leaf Green, one of my favorite early 911 colors. Is this a real RS or a Tribute car?

Leaf Green is Robert's favorite early 911 color, but this car isn't leaf Green. It was painted Porsche Color Code: 6710/6767 Lime Green (Chartreuse) 226. It was offered in 1973 only, but in 1972 you could get it as a Special Order (SO).
The lighting in the place was artistic but not very condusive to photographing actual colors. It's a Tribute car with a 2.8 that has been very nicely done. Really Nice.

Nice. Love the early greens. Another favorite of mine is Golden Green (66-69), same exact shade as a Martini olive.

There have been a number of really beautiful tribute cars done lately as prices have gotten out of reach. The last good deal on a driver RS that I saw was at European Collectibles last Spring at $180K IIRC. I doubt we'll see any lower than that from now on. A buddy owned a beater (White/Blue Graphics) that we used to race at Sears Point years ago, it was the purest raw 911 experience I can remember. Anyway, thanks for the picture, really beautiful car.

JoA-- When I first saw your above photo, I thought of the challenging light of Bruce Canepa's downstairs showroom. I figured Tru-Speed must have better lighting; I was suprised to read the following. Good job with that photograph; it turned out much better than mine at Canepa.

Taking us back to the La Dolce Vita Automobili, here's the view from the Alfa Romeo Club's private picnic...

My new-found friends knew how to have fun at a Concours event. Some of the good grub & vino they generously invited me to share:

Jason-- Above sign says "Maserati Hospitality." Pretty clear.

Following signs aren't as straightforward, so I added titles just for you...

Brian-- This has a CA license, taken Aug 12 in Monterey. Dunno if it's local to the Peninsula though -- it was parked at a hotel.

If you like these, check out the rest at madWhips.com's White Porsche Carrera GT page. Enjoy!
