Delorean has em beat by 25 years. Whats new was old... By the way the black chrome lexus looks good IMO... I bet its a hell of a finish to keep looking good - exposing all surface dings, scratches etc.... At least with the delorean, you could brasso scratches out!

It's not silver, MTM built it and it's mainly polished aluminum(since the A8 is aluminum) and the plastic bits were painted with a special paint. I got the same e-mail about it being silver, but it was a joke. But that car did start the trend. Not sure if it's a good trend , though.
