+1. I've had bad luck with non-ZF rebuilt racks (BMW application). Since this is not a job I'd want to do twice, I'll spend the extra for the ZF rebuild.

I'd get the cheap Zims rack. I have never heard anything bad about them.
You'll know right away if the rack is messed up anyway. The price difference is outrageous!
There is nothing High-tech about a damn steering rack....

I'd buy that kit, and rebuild the rack. Do it carefully, and it will be as good as new. Philip
