Having 4th 60k service
I'm at 249,300 miles. Beginning the countdown to 250K! I got out of sync for major service, should have had it at 240k. When I bought the car new, the only way I could rationalize spending that much on a car was if I could drive it 250,000 miles. Of course had I been married, that wouldn't have worked. My former SO complained that the car cost more than the house, which is womanspeak for buy a bigger house. I did. I must say that I didn't get such good service out of her as the 993 and she has been long gone.

Wow, Congrats! :)
That's great! I'm with you, but don't drive her in the snow (I use my Cayenne S for that - currently at almost 129K miles).
In regards to your statement about your ex-wifey, remember the oldie "It's cheaper to keep her" - I mean the 993 (currently at around 67K miles)!
I've gotten a few hints like that by my wife, but have been fortunate that she lets me play with my toys!

Richard, you were part of my business case on buying my car--thanks much! I have a long ways to go to catch up, but am looking forward to trying. Should break 100k in September.

Wow, you're an inspiration. These cars are designed to be driven and enjoyed and you are doing just that, in a Cab no less. I applaud you, sir.
I am doing my 90K service soon at 88K miles to start fresh. As my car is new to me and I don't have many records, it's good to know I potentially have many more years of driving pleasure left.
The oldest man in the world died last week at 113. His successor, who's 112, gets up at 5a.m. each day, does exercises, puts on a suit and tie, hits breakfast at 7a.m. then spends the day 'socializing' with the youngsters. Does this mean I'm at half-live?

Well put. The idea of keeping a car like a 993 as low mileage as possible is strange to me. Drive it, enjoy it, and USE IT!

Back when I started with these cars in 1980, it was not uncommon to see 150-200K mile 2.0 911's. And as I started working on them, it seemed the cars usually hit 100K well inside 10 years. I remember one day with my shop, I had 3 less than year old 930's in for 15K services! This obsession with not driving them is really only a recent phenomenon, and I'm not sure if it's because life has gravitated toward hoarding things and boasting about "what I've got", or if there's a sense of embarrassment to stand out.

My 993 only has 23k on it but I wish it had more. I try and drive it every chance I get but I work from home and summer is crazy busy at my job. Having two kids(3, 1) does not leave much free time. I actually have put 75% of the miles on the 993 taking my little girl out for drives after dinner. It has been a great, she is now a BIG Porsch-Ah fan. Many drives she tells me that she wants two Porsches one in pink and of course a black one. I love that:-)
