Default Is Classic Grey just Classic Grey?

By that I mean, looking at http://www.993faq.com/?p=106, the interior option codes are:
BG Chestnut Brown
BM Chestnut Brown
BX Chestnut Brown
DF Classic Grey
EB Black
FE Midnight Blue
FJ Midnight Blue
FK Midnight Blue
FS Cashmere Beige/Black
JB Nephrite Green
KH Chestnut Brown
LC Cashmere Beige/Black
LG Cashmere Beige/Black
LT Black
MB Boxster Red
MX Classic Grey
PT Florentine Grey
SA Black
SB Classic Grey
SC Midnight Blue
SD Chestnut Brown
SG Cashmere Beige/Black
TF Classic Grey
TT Classic Grey
US Midnight Blue
VD Black full leather
VN Black partial leather
YA Cashmere Beige/Black

4 of those are Classic Grey. I know there are a couple of shades of grey, one of which I've heard is Marble, which I don't even see here. I'm trying to figure out if the light grey in a car I'm looking at is Classic Grey or something else for matching a seat.

Thanks,

On my '97 the code on the Option Decal is TT (Classic Gray), FWIW.

Or maybe I have a Twin Turbo and didn't know it??

Classic Grey is dark grey, there is also Marble Grey which is lighter grey. When I ordered my 993 Cab and saw them both. I think it comes down to personal preference.

Jos,

I too was looking at the car you've decided to purchase (I was next in line). The grey in your new car is much lighter than classic grey - almost an off-white.

Congrats on the purchase!

I believe Classic Grey is the lighter of two shades of grey I've seen on 993's. I am also under the impression that the different codes for each color defined a particular combination of that color plus either matching dash, door tops, headliner and carpets or black dash, door tops, headliner and carpets OR some other combination of both. Example: My car is Cashmere with black dash, door tops and headliner plus beige carpet which is code LC, however, I've seen Cashmere with matching dash, door tops and carpets plus black headliner and I've seen Cashmere with black dash, door tops, carpets and headliner. I've also seen Classic grey, black dash, door tops, headliner and carpets and same but with classic grey carpets and I've also seen Classic grey, grey dash, grey door tops, grey headliner and grey carpets. I've been told, and Streather's book also says, that the only way to decipher the exact combinations is to call Porsche N.A. with a code and ask, or check a physical car.

I believe it's the other way around.
Marble Grey is the lighter grey / gray.
Classic Grey is the darker grey / gray.

That's right. Classic grey is the darker of the two and usually comes with the same color dash/headliner/steering wheel. Marble grey is much lighter and usually comes with a black or blue dash and headliner. The car is question has a blue dash and marble grey seats/carpets.

So, what color is the darkest grey/gray? I've seen a grey interior that is much darker than johnC4s's picture of his car above. Is that Florentine?

I think the flash on C4Sjohn's camera is making the upper part of the driver's seat look lighter than it is. My Classic Gray looks more like the passenger's seat color.

I'm talking about dark grey. Like what they call 'Graphite Grey' on the 996. I've seen it in a 993. Is that Florentine?
