I think the flash from my camrea made the color of the seats look a little lighter then if you were standing next to my car. If I remember this was the darkest grey color available on the order list on a 993. But if you had the money you could always buy a custom order of any color. When I was at the factory one time years ago I saw a 993 yellow with green interior. ;-(

Here's a Turbo at RPM with dark grey. They're calling it "Rubicon" but who knows....

For the 993 Porsche offered 3 shades of Gray, but there are several variations. Classic Gray (Darkest of the 3, most common), Marble Gray (Lightest of the 3, similar but silghtly darker then 964 "Light Gray") and Rubicon Gray (Very rare and obviously Purpleish hue to it.) Classic Gray has a bunch of codes depending upon when built, what carpet color, dash top color, door panel color, beltline color etc.... Basically to help with internal ordering process which was streamlined and cost cut from the 964 days of having several more combos. Rubicon is really cool to see in person, photos don't do much for it but many of the orig. press cars in Arena Red had the Rubicon interior, but I have also seen it on Black, Slate Gray, and the car Rubicon was 1st created for was the "964 30 Jahre" of Viola over Rubicon which is just stunning.

There was actually no Marble gray carpet... perhaps that's Florentine colored carpet? Marble Grey only describes the leather/vinyl color.

Right, Marble Gray was too light of a color and I assume they learned from offering it on the 964 with Light Gray or even Linen, that its just not practical. Several carpet, dash combos. Providence Blue was a unique one you rarely see.

I think you're right about Florentine, the only listing for the color is code DDQ Florentine Grey (Carpet). There are two other Grey colors listed for leather though: Codes B50 and EJX are both Space grey (leather) and Code E23 is listed as Dark grey (leather). I suspect these are full leather interior colors only....
