Calling All Socal Porsche Owners - Cars & Coffee August 8th 2009
Lets have everyone come together and let take over Cars & Coffee on August 8th.
I know there are a ton of us So Cal owners here so lets all get together and make this happen!
We can all meet in a lot next to C&C and take over a whole section of the event for Porsche.
I would like to have all San Diego Guys caravan up, and we can have video and pics taken on the way!
I think if we can get all of the SoCal porsche owners on here it would be awesome and unforgettable!

Link has some info and a map. I've heard this is a pretty awesome gathering...might have to join in with the SD crowd driving up.

It is an awesome gathering, for all marques. If you have never been it is worth the trip of 2-3 hours.
The only drawback for some that will make that long a trip, is the show is usually over by 9 with most everyone leaving the lot around 8:30...

This is a pretty awesome gathering. I will try to make it but may have other commitments for the PCA OCR Autox at El Toro on Sunday the 10th.
If you plan to gather as a group, you will need to enter the parking lot between 6:00-6:15am as the lot fills up early and fast.

I'm In
It's been awhile since I've attended, so this sounds like a perfect opportunity...phenomenal gathering for gear heads.

The Cars and Coffee lot fills up very early. You should be there ready to enter at around 6:00am, especially if you want to park together. I'll be there, so I'm hoping to see this collection of fine 993's from the San Diego area.

If it looks like more than a few p-cars might converge, it would be good form to give the organizers a heads up. Don't know what else is going on that weekend, but they would appreciate a heads up and might be open to making it a Porsche feature event. Monterey is just around the corner, so there might be a few people getting their cars ready for the trip up north.

I have been to Cars and Coffee about 4 times with my Ferrari, never had an issue getting in and finding a spot. I typically arrive at around 7:00am. There are usually no particular "maque" of cars for any particular weekend, it is all random. I believe they made it that way for the beauty of it, you never know what exotics you will get to see. However the times I went I have seen Porsche and BMW days, but there were just as many of the other "brand" cars there at the same time.
I may head down there and meet up with you guys with the PIG (cayenne) if time allow.
Here are some pictures that I took when I was down there last time.

After the event, Aug 8th?? Here's a suggestion... might nice one at that...
I stumbled over this blog just now and HEY! I'm a 993 of sorts….
I'd be up for a cruise after the show? It’s a thought for the San Diego group that’s on the fence about the drive to S. Orange County?
Could caravan down the coast after the event? Maybe get something to eat/drink..... Heck I dunno. Bikini’s and beer pit stop?
It would be a rare event, at least for me, to cruise with a group. I’ll be honest, the last decent Porsche gathering I attended was
“White Glove Concours” in Dana Point> Not really too many modified cars, though. A little disapointing for Orange County!
BTW, my name is Craig and I hope this idea gets some legs.
Gots me a new barrel of racing fuel, too!
I hope to see a sea of Porsches, Aug 8th…..
Thought I'd share a picture of car. Nevermind the ugly dude in the picture..lol yeppers, 911's hate me...so ugly aint so bad!

Iwas there yesterday. According to somebody at the event there were 200 cars waiting to get in. I also heard that they are not thrilled with a lot of one make showing up except Ferrari's, pimpcars errr Lamborghini's, Corvettes or the Neurotic, BMW owners.
There was a Shelby Daytona, a Ferrari 275GTB, a Kaiser, and a Packard to make one happy.
We should let them know that we coming ang we should have a rally point for the guys from LA to meet up. What do you think?

Funny, I really never thought of BMW as a marque equitable to Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche.
Another point, often the lot across from the Mazda lot is occupied by the motorcycle riding schools.

Run em over? Kidding.
I'm up for whatever, how many Porsches do you really think will attend?
I'd be, also, interested in a future gathering elsewhere? I am kind of excited to meet you all!
*P.S. I tend to agree with "helmet155" on the BMW comment. Porsches, imo, are indeed a cut above
them beemer boomers, really.
