Tire recommendation / wear

Those Contis are like pinballs. I think they have a UTQG treadwar rating in the 300 range. With stock camber and toe and street driving you should be closer to 20K miles per set out back.
Sounds like you got the car recently. Ever had an alignment? It might be in good shape but aggressive. Check PO's papers - maybe you can find what it's set to.

PS - been pretty happy with Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports. Getting over 20K out of rears. I think they handle better than Contis but have 340 treadwear rating.

I'm surprised at the range of tire mileage that people are getting.

I think I'm a pretty agressive street driver, but that's a good point - I'm putting a lot of highway miles on my car.
I've put about 55K on my car since I got it. My first two sets of rears were gone in 7-9K miles. My alignment in back had too much toe and was just over -2 deg camber. With stock (I think it's closer to 1.3 deg) I get great wear.
I do miss the handling I had with that camber though.
