Default Atiwe steering wheel installed - pics

I picked up a 3-spoke Atiwe wheel from a RL-er and installed it a couple of days ago. Couldn't help but post a few pictures.

Here's what it looked like in the previous owner's car: https://rennlist.com/forums/6661424-post10.html.

I used Fast Orange to get the shiny areas clean. In hindsight I should have used a hand cleaner that doesn't have pumice in it. Fast Orange was a little harsh on the alcantara. I'll try taking a shaver or lint remover to clean it up but it looks and feels great as it is.

The wheel is much smaller and more responsive than the stock 4-spoker. It might be tiring on a long cruise, but I can't wait to try it on the track!

Unfortunately I ignored the golden rule about not turning the ignition with the airbag out and now I have to get the airbag code reset. But at least I know I didn't somehow hook up the horn buttons to detonate the airbag :P

It looks barely used. How long did the other Rennlister have it?

That looks amazing. Does it block any gauges? This is on my todo list now.

I'm not sure how long he had it. It came with the car he recently bought and he didn't like it. It had soaked up some oils at the 2 and 10 o'clock positions but otherwise was in really good shape.

Surprisingly it doesn't block that much of the dash. The top of the tach and left side of the speedo are visible, which are the two things I look at on the track or street. Come by this Saturday and you can play with it!

That looks HOT! Do you find the yellow marker annoying?

You shouldn't be looking that close and that far down while you're driving. I have the same yellow band on my Momo wheel and never notice it.

Yea, I know, but I catch it out of the corner of my eye, & it's distracting. But maybe after driving with one for a while you would no longer notice.
