Default Porsche Summer Camp

Now that school is out, I rarely drive any of my P-cars as I'm hauling all my boys together to various camps and activities. This week, nothing is scheduled for anyone, so we've been hanging out at my garage.

To get everyone started on the basics, we began the week with an oil change on the Eurovan. Tuesday morning started when I asked the boys to save the empty cereal box ("why dad?") for our 993 project. We then went to the garage, put the 993 on the lift to change the oil and used the box to divert the oil into the oil drain ("cool"). The first pic shows my 10 y.o. bolting the underside plastic panels for me as I had just smashed my finger trying to hammer loose the 15mm sump drain bolt ("you can cuss if you need to, dad, I already know the words").

Today was a nice overcast day so we washed a few of the cars, and tomorrow we need to swap out the serpentine belt and maybe change the ATF on the Eurovan. We'll try to squeeze in an oil change on one of the 356's if there is time on Friday. And now that I see how dirty the underside of my 993 is, maybe I should give each kid a brush and a few cans of Xenit and they can detail the underside later this summer.

With so much to do in the garage, I don't know why we send them to all the various summer camps....

Nice operation you got going there. No way I'd let kids wash my cars becuase I remember when I was a kid and I washed all the family cars. I use to use dishwashing detergent and any cloth I could find. It was hard work washing 4 cars when you where a kid.

I wish my dad taught me that stuff when I was younger... he taught me about not putting my feet on the furniture lol.

Love it, nothing like some slave labor, get a farm license, & have them work all year on it.

Looks like a fun day with the kids, I used to be the "tool getter" for my Dad, it was good times.

Kids only get the wash the silver and white cars....the colors are more forgiving than black. Plus I was watching like a hawk: "not so hard", "rinse out the towel", "you missed a spot", "quit spraying your brothers"

I like your style man. I'm sure the kids love it and they must tell all their mates about their old mans Porsche. Let the good times roll baby.
