Thanks for ALL the inputs. As I am new with Porsche, and I wanted to get an opinion on what is fair, etc... To be honest, I didn't have my C4S very long, but liked everything about it except for the power (not that I going to be going nuts with it, it is the "reserve power" I would like).

The color is dark blue on black interior. Deal is made and now I am making arrangements to pick it up. I will post pictures is a couple of weeks (after detailing/cleaning and making everything looks right.

Thanks again! Can wait to get it in my garage.

Sorry guys, no go on the 993TT. I have to say I am very disappointed to say the least. After a wasted day and a $500 trip, the car was determined to have a "R-DOT" hood which was not disclosed on the PPI report (done by a Porsche dealer). I told them I wanted all the panels to be original! At the end, the Porsche dealer say the "R-DOT" may not mean it has been replace. After that, I went nuts on them. They reimburse me for the PPI, but I am not done yet... The owner of the Porsche should hear about it too. Lesson learned.

Is 2 PPI overkilled???

Got it. You are SW of Seattle.

I asked as I am looking into possibly moving to Blaine area (Semiahmoo, Birch Bay etc.) in the future.

Thanks.

not if the first is done by a Porsche dealer

Most often dealers are not a good option for a PPI on the air/oil cooled cars. They typically don't have the knowledge required.
There are exceptions...

Sorry for the on/off deal. Frustrating, I know. Hang in there!

The car is overall o.k. but I like car with original panels. I don't think you have to be an expert to see the big "R-DOT" decal on the hood! ...Unless, you are blind! Oh, well....

Hey think of it this way. You spent $500 on a PPI that told you not to spend $62k on a 993 Turbo. That in my mind was a very smart move. I know it still hurts that you were so close to buying the car of your dreams.

As an aside, I've been fortunate to make friends with a guy who belongs to the local PCA chapter and owns a 993 Turbo. He's quite a character, since he is about 40 years older and has sort of become an autocross mentor to me. I suck at autocross since it's my first season participating in it, so he has been riding in my car and taking me for a ride in his. Oh and did I mention that his car is also Guards red, and oh we both went to Dartmouth College. It is quite an amazing car to ride in, and the twin turbos are so smooth that you can almost not tell when they kick in. I hope you have been able to drive one! Oh and drive a 930 if you get a chance. I finally did, and I was blown away, literally and figuratively...

Best of luck finding your car!!! Be patient and the right one will turn up! You should be glad that you didn't buy the car without doing the PPI only to find later that it wasn't the right one.

P.S. Xenon Litronics lights were standard on Turbos, so don't be tricked into paying extra for a standard feature.
