Default Shop for PPI in Tampa area?
I am negotiating on a car in New Port , FL. I know Tampa and St. Petersburg are about 30 miles away so are there any private shops to recommend over using a dealer. I am looking at a 1997 Targa with a supercharger down there.

I was going to tell you to take it to Reevs but being supercharged, I don't know if a dealer would touch it.

Is Reevs the dealer or a private shop? I just need a PPI covering the usual - frame tweaks, leaks, condition, etc.

Vortex is right by the airport judging from the map they post. That might work out if the seller can get the car there. I was thinking about German Specialists in Oldsmar. It's closer to New Port Richey and one of the pictures on the website looks similar to the sc install in the targa. But no email address so I will have to call Monday.

Would definitely recommend Bob Brooks...he is no longer at Vortex though. You can reach him at 650.743.6801. I think he's working out of Sarasota now.

True. I had service at Vortex after he left. It is still A1 +. A lot of racers there.

if you need an independent closer to NPR, try leo at german specialties (813-818-0993). he's in oldsmar off tampa road.

Absolutely, go to Bob Brooks. A very knowledgeable guy who is also a very good person from my interactions with him (just spoke to him today again).

Marc,

At this point in time I am leaning towards German Specialties because he seems to be the closest to NPR. Also he does TPC supercharger installs, at least the website says they do. I am trying to make it easy on the seller.
