Question

"...sitting in a mexican restaurant in page, az right now, drinking some well earned cervezas
will throw up..."

Was it the food or the beer? (-%

How'd I miss this? Great thread! Too bad about the mandatory-not-really-charity donations. Love the pics, almost like being there!

Where did you get the disposable paper funnels? They look like just the ticket.

Great pics. Congrats on your score and the fine adventure home.
The "funnel" looks like it might be a sno-cone cup?

+1 on the pix. Nice work.

That's what I was thinking too. (Kind of a pita to lug around a big funnel and then worry about drips in the trunk.)

Looks like you had an awesome trip. Which was your favourite passage or road?

Top thread. Congratulations of driving a Porsche like it should be driven. Darn police!

Great shots! So are you back home, & you had 0 issues? That's great to hear! They are great road trip cars!!

When you get resettled & want your car to be cleaned up, ask Kie who did his car.

where did i swipe those funnels from... i forget which store. but i've found a bunch of gas stations and such in past will sometimes have them where you'd pick up oil too. they do do a great job in a pinch. i always keep a lot of napkins and funnel / oil in my cars to be able to check and top up on oil. regular funnels are fine, since at the gas stations they normally have paper towels to whipe 'em up anyways.

the car made it with no problem at all. AAA card not needed! i have a bit of rubbing on one of the corners that i'll need to look at, and some other minor stuff, but i've been impressed with my p car so far

best roads.. hrmmm. ft bragg to leggett is always a favourite. but i think that 36, from 101 to 299 (redding, ca) was a real eye opener to me!!

stealth 993... i may call upon you. first wash and claybar though i'll do myself, i feel like it's quality time well spent pouring over every square inch getting to know the new car.

pics pics pics... coming! ahhh. sucks being back at work. :P

day 4 of 9:

an early start to the day. ungh. was going to try make it up through escalante to catch a canyoneering session:

bryce canyon:

sunrise:

at the end of the paved trail, that leads up to a good 60-100mi dirt track to go up to escalante. eff that! no canyoneering for us it looks like.

the dude who was stuck there 'cause his car broke down (which is why i stopped). i actually managed to wedge him into the back of bunny, hahahaha. took him out to the highway with all is photog equipment... he was en route to see the wave in ut (look it up.. it's phenomenal)

coral cliffs (or canyons.. i forget). vewy pwetty:

given escalante was a bust... we headed up towards zion instead! (following rennlister advice... y'all are swell!)

zion:

we took yer advice and did angel's landing. on the way up:

not for the faint of heart:

if you look close you can see hwere you scamper up to climb this precipitous ledge:

views going down:

more local wildlife:

we also went up to weeping rock, and hiked the narrows. got caught in a rain storm there and turned back to avoid hitting flash floods... but.. yeah.. wow.

bun:

i was grumpy :P rudest service ever... i felt like i was trying to be swindled the whole time i was in there:

sunrise.. to sunset. a long day:

tee:

...

epic lulz.

can't take pictures of the freerange cattle that we encountered at night.. that was scurry. going 40 in a 70 white knuckled in the pitch black of the arizona desert is harrowing. but we made it through.

stay tuned for day 5... ... well earned food after a good 10-12mi of hiking... nomnomnom:

hehe. the ticket i got was for 75 in a 70 (he clocked me at 83 in a 70... during like, a 15mi stretch of straight in the desert :P ). so it's a no points, non moving violation, 60 bucks.

and i thought i was being careful at 83 in that area! this car is definitely a cop magnet.

that was the last visit we got from the local hospitality and guest relations dept.

2 tickets total. the first one was complete BS too, there is no way the cop coulda tagged us, and he wrote the ticket for 10 more than we were going (2 cars rounding a corner in motion... no way). pft.

anyways. done venting. state revenue collections department needs to make money, i guess... and given i don't have a state income tax i am ok with that sort of taxation
