Senor Moffat, I have not been holding out. I just did the swap on Tuesday night. The photo is an iPhone pic. I'll take more when I wash the car next.

I think that is the best color for the MY'02s, at least on a silver car. Someday I'll get mine re-finished in that gunmetal grey/dark grey/diamond black/hyper silver color.

You can also consider the '05 997 Carrera III's. Very similar.

Will the center caps from my cups fit these wheels?
Any other modifications required to run these? I thought I remembered that you need some kind of steering rack brace to run 18" wheels on early 993s, true?

Heh, I was outbid on another eBay set earlier today. Bid was in with a few seconds to spare, but not enough. Oh well, I may just stick with my old CupII's and order some HRTZ-III's for now.

Oh no! my VIN is earlier than the one listed in the tech bulletin...what is the risk of running these wheels on my car???
I don't want to hurt my baby.

My complete thanks to the RL'er who tipped me off to carefully check things out. Things were not "perfect" as initially described. One person's "perfect" may only apply to cosmetics....

My VIN is outside the range as well. I posted the same question and was reassured by a few here. There are other threads on the subject that I found reassuring as well, when I searched a few months back. Considering some are running 19's and are OK, I would imagine a light set of 18's with proper offsets and standard widths of 8" & 10" (like MY02's!) should be fine. Judgement call, though.

Thanks m-cat, that's kinda what I thought too.
By the way, I am originally from the Seattle area, relocated to Texas 1990 and I can say I honestly have not missed the rain! It's not as pretty down here though...

Thanks for the info, good luck in your hunt for some wheels!
