MY '02 Wheels

love those MY02s...would still be searching for some if my 993 hollows didn't show up nearby... err, might STILL be searching anyways MY02's look great and on a silver car, in black...mmmmmm
Make SURE you get pics from seller of outside AND inside of ALL wheels. I spent time talking to a guy with a "perfect" set of powder coated black MY02 wheels... Only after several emails and prompting, did he mention the re-weld fix and the pics showed flat spots on the outer rim that were obvious issues. Buyer beware!
My complete thanks to the RL'er who tipped me off to carefully check things out. Things were not "perfect" as initially described. One person's "perfect" may only apply to cosmetics....

FWIW, I bought a used set of OEM MY '02's (from a 996) for my NB 993. I bought them from different sources and just had them painted Polar Silver. I agree that they are the best looking rims on a 993. They make the 993 look ten years younger! I got a quote for a set of Toyo Proxes RA-1 tires which was a tad over $1k, so if you can find a set with decent rubber already ont hem, you'll probably be ahead.
I'll post pics when I get the tires on and have them on my car.

I actually didn't know that they weren't made by BBS IMHO a good set up would be to use the ET52 9" rears for front wheels...would give you the flexibility to run up to 255 tires.
I also personally think that 10-12mm spacers should be used with the ET65 10" rears if you decide to roll the fenders.

A set of MY02's are in my future, also. They have become my fave. Paul, can't wait to see yours.
Those black ones in the earlier post are killer...Hmmmmmm.
Thanks for the thread on this topic. Same info I have wanted.

I got a fantastic deal on mine thanks to Paul K posting a link to an ebay auction on here. Drove up to Chicago and picked them up, they look great on the car. Need to get some pictures and post them...

Using the 9" rears on the front is a pretty ding dang good idea. Agree with the spacers... my wheel wells look a bit emptier when I swapped my CCW's to the 996 MY02 set.
For the OP, check 6speedonline.com. There was a black powder coated set on their classifieds that might look great on the right car. I paid $1000 for mine w/ rubber. The tires probably only have a couple thousand miles left on them, but that's worth something. I did have to do a bit of repair on the wheels, so that made them less of a smoking deal, but I'm happy enough.
