Default Pacific Northwest Porsche 356 Bull Session Event/Local Renn Gathering?

I apologize for the late notice on this otherwise great event and gathering of the Pacific Northwest Porsche 356 Group but it's been a fun event for all Porsche enthusiasts.

No affiliation with the group but my now retired mechanic Denny Aker normally hosts the event at his facility in Bothell, but is taking this year off as a break.

Here are some photographs from last year's event, unfortunately this year's event will be held on a paved site down at Griot's Garage in Fife, right off of I-5south of Seattle, north of Tacoma. I plan on stopping by early, perhaps we can gather for coffee before heading down. PM me if interested.

Please note: The gentleman inspecting the engine in the Speedster in my first image is PCA National Tech Editor Alan Caldwell. You can learn a lot in a very short time when you get him going on just about anything Porsche as I don't think he's missed any of these local events.

+1 Alan is a wealth of knowledge. He is a tour-de-force of information. If you get the chance, chat with him at the event- you can learn a lot.

You know he just had a hip replacement, so he may be sitting this one out. But yes, he is extremely knowledgeable about Porsches!!

Why the site change?

Lets do a 993 mini meet there!!!

I heard this from Mark Aker, Denny's son is that his dad just wanted to take a break from organizing and running this very well attended event. Mark said the "Bull Session" will more than likely return to the Aker compound next year. Interesting to see it as a "commercial" event now that it's down at Griot's.

We got a late start, as I wasn't feeling 100% but got there about 1p.m. to see things begin to wind down. Not the pastoral scene like years past at Denny Aker's. Griot's is located on the northwest corner of the block of an industrial park. Non-356s were relegated to the eastern end of the neighboring trucking business, with tables set up for lunch, a tent for the German band, a tent for the catering group, followed by tent for lunch tickets. The featured cars were displayed around the leg of the corner parking areas. It felt very linear as from where we parked it was at least two and a half blocks until you got to the corner. Griot's provided workshops featuring their products and even had their store open for purchases, it just felt commercial. Since we arrived late, the caterers were already packing up, so we decided to get lunch elsewhere, and that elsewhere was a very nice BBQ restaurant down the road called WartHog BBQ. A better lunch option for sure, here are a few pictures.

We did not see any Rennlisters there but there were about 5 or 6 993s in the lot. Met a bunch of real nice 356 owners and had fun ogling their nice cars. Mostly drivers...not show cars. I love it!

Here is one of the line ups:

And here is my wife checking out her new "I want" car":
