Default Went on a PCA tour of the Olympic Peninsula

This was a almost 900mi tour of the Olympic Peninsula, Hood Canal bridge was closed, so we had to take some back roads up to RT 101 to Port Angelus.

The tour hit a ton of awesome smooth back roads, very curvy, & very fast! It took us almost 6 hours to get up to PA, then we did 350 mi the next day, & another 350 mi on Sunday.

Here are my pics, sorry, I spent most of the weekend driving, not talking pictures! Yes, I took a few of my own car.

Everyone who stayed home, you totally missed out!!! We had a LOT of fun!

Our start, Friday afternoon, heading up some back roads to RT 101.

The next day, we stopped @ a rest area right in Forks, of course everything was closed up, even this place...

Hou rain forrest, it was so spectacular, you just got to go & visit!

My artistic side

This is a group of trees growing out of a fallen tree

Finally stopped to clean off some bugs from the windshild, yes, it was that bad.

My poor car after 2 good days of driving, this is @ our incredible hotel in Long Beach, every one should stay here! Peter & I shared a little house & we each had our own room, plus a full kitchen.

Some of our companions in long beach

On the beach, the gate was closed, so this was as close as we could get.

Nice! I was chasing two of those cars around last weekend. Great scenery and thanks for the pics. Are you going on the CanAm tour this coming weekend?

Bravo! Great pics Mike! You were certainly in some georgous company, and I don't just mean the spouses The cars, the beach, the forest. Wow! How was your rear end after spending that much time in the seat? My two-wheeled-gang rode from Pa to Ohio. Boy did I have a case of monkey butt! Maybe its better with those magnificent sport seats.
Regards

Wow! simply gorgeous!

We plan to drive up the Coast this summer taking my son to visit colleges. (Oregon, Oregons St, Washington etc...)

I haven't been up that way in a while, but I love the Olympic Peninsula (Hurrican Ridge, Sequim) and the San Juan Islands are beautiful!

too bad we will be driving the Sienna and not the 993...

PS, the White Targa reminds me of my last car... I miss my targa...

Nice. Makes me wish my car was up here. As you say, the Rain Forest is not to be missed. I'm always amazed at how small the 993 looks against the 997 and Cayman!!

It wasn't bad. The roads had so much going on, my butt really didn't stay in one place to long. I was really starting to get a little sloppy & tired towards the end. The time just flew bye! Yea, the sport seats help.

Yes, this weekend will be awesome! I was told most of the route, & it looks great, unless some one breaks down, then they will be unhappy in the middle of nowhere with out help.
