+911 Mike. I just put that "911" on on my Rivi Blue Cab. The car needed something on the back I did not want the script badge so the 911 fit the bill nicely. And like you said above simple, but elegant.

Or you could go with the '993' look:

FWIW, my 993 is polar silver, and the 'Carrera' & '4' badges were silver. It looked goofy. So I removed them, and painted them black. I had intended to put new ones on (they come with the adhesive on the underside already) but while the 'Carrera' script is available in black or silver, you can only get the '4' in silver. I used some trim adhesive to reattach them and it worked great- dab it on the underside, hold for a minute, on there good. I had the same 'ghost' issue, so no emblem was not an option for me.

EDIT: The stuff I used was 3M Plastic Emblem & Trim Adhesive, Part # 03601. Unfortunately it doesn't have one of those screw on nozzles for delicate application, but it sure sticks the emblems down good.

thanks for all the replies. i'm headed to the auto paint store to get some adhesive and go that route. i'll post some pics when i get them back on. it's been about a month since i took them off, so i don't think i'm going to warm up to the badge-less look.

Spray adhesive isn't likely to work well because the emblem is hollow, and I'd be worried about the chemicals etching the paint. A new emblem is only about $28 last time I checked.

Roche, better check paint as I used the spray adhesive on your car, and while the letters are hollow, there was enough contact that it worked just fine.

+1 buy new ones

I picked up a new Carrera script w/ the adhesive already on it for the back deck to replace the old one that snapped off while washing one day. Really easy...peel the backing and stick it on.

everything with the paint is good...a very faint "ghost" effect that others have complained about. not enough to change my mind; i just thought i'd like the look more. oh well, i tried it, back to stock.

i'm going to keep the "s" black.
