Default 993 value Question

This market is pretty rough but I had a question for you guys.

What do you think a 1996 993 C2 is worth if it is in Great shape in and out, No problems, under 22K miles, Manual, Stock W/lsd, But has a salvage title due to damage was fixed professionally and resprayed.

Im guessing a car like this would cost $25K is that realistic?

This is from a car a saw for sale online, Just woundering if it was priced accordingly.

40% off for Salvage Title, but get a Body Shop PPI anyway.

I'd love to buy a dozen salvaged titled cars for 40% off. It's just flatly not the case.

So you think that a '96 C2 should be worth $41.5K today?

Yea 40% for salvage is just not realistic. You cant even buy a wrecked 911 for 40% off.

40% off what? Isn't that a little vague? Isn't that a little abitrary? Isn't it more likely to depend a lot on the individual car and circumstances?

I agree 100%.
The worst Example of a Salvage that was fixed like crap should be 40-50% off.
If its nice and fixed correctly the 40% is way too much.

If i'm so far off, let me hear some counter opinions.

What percentage and what is the value of such a car at that low mileeage?

I'm basing my opinion on an excellent condition non-and salvage Titled car on average

C'mon let's hear some non-vague estimates. (-%

Here's another angle: a lot of the value of that car is due to the very low miles, and that mileage premium only comes from buyers who specifically want a pristine car, and would never consider a salvage title.

For a normal car with normal miles, a salvage title might discount the price 20% or more. But I suspect that a salvage title totally kills the premium for the low miles, PLUS the usual discount.

Tough case. Sucks to be the owner of a car like that that gets crashed.

Wonder no longer boys. $$$ and a 2007 Ducati motorcycle were delivered to Michigan just a week or so back. "bunny" now waits patiently for the bike-detailer pictured below to pilot her back to Seattle.

Road trip!

I gave my estimate above - $25K sounds about right. Non-salvaged, this would be a low-$30K car, maybe a tad less. I'd say 20% or so price chop for salvaged title. And as Jon mentioned above, it kind of throws away the low mileage premium. So $25K might be optimistic today.

Kie, the car looks pretty nice. The grille is a bit odd and the wing too - what is it? I've owned enough salvaged cars. They could be a very good value if put back together well. What do you think the end value was when bike and $$$ are combined?

the end value is whatever a buyer would be willing to pay for it.

in my case, you can say 25k.

looking forward to picking up the new whip and the ensuing 4500mi road trip... she will get as thorough a detail as the bikes did.

Its a Techart wing/bodykit. This car was wacked when it had 2k miles and the owner had it fixed and drove it until 6k miles. The next guy bought it in 2003 and put less than 20k on it in 6 years. He had the repairs redone a couple years back, cost him about $3500 for that. Now he has a Ducati 1098 and some $$$. And a 993 until Lori (penpen) makes it out east.

For some reason the MI title did not say "salvage" and neither does the freshly issued WA version but the story will go with the car for life. Or at least while Lori owns it and if she ever sells it. My guess is she will not be publishing her true cost on the car. Rumor has it she knows a guy who hooked her up with a good deal on a bike for trade bait though

Lori, Kie, the long road trip is exactly what I did when I bought mine in San Francisco. About 4500 miles meandering across the country. This was truly the best thing I did with the car. I think you're gonna like it :-)
