+1. Indy is boring.

Thank the Gods for Tivo. I got to sleep in. Monaco GP came on at 4:30 am here! Crappy testosterone laden Speed Channel, of course.

The announcers mentioned that the next three will be broadcast on Fox(?)

FTG = +1

Here is a better alternative to the current IRL tractor

Same engine, better styling, much safer.

The Indy 500 stopped being relevant after the split and I doubt it will return anytime soon.
Prior to the split, it was fascinating to watch the drivers struggle to make the field.
Qualifying for the Indy 500 actually meant something.

Now, it's just another paid 'arrive and drive field filling' race once you get outside the top 5-7 drivers.

From a marketing/$ perspective, I can see Danica driving for one of the new F1 teams next season.
From a logical/skill/talent driver selection perspective, the list of better qualified drivers is immense.

I don't have that much time to watch television and just catch what I can here and there whenever the 500 comes on. When I was younger, I would watch the whole race, but I didn't have a business and life back then. It's not like I don't care about Indy; this applies to almost any racing on TV.

Danica may not be "the best" out there, but that she can make it to the podium, let alone drive in a top-level open wheel series, speaks volumes for her talent. I would love to have 1/4 of her capabilities and am fairly certain that she could clean the clocks of just about every PCA club racer out there.

Yup. There are a lot of misogynists out there. Her "sex sells" marketing probably doesn't help her image to hardcore race fans, tough.

That doesn't really say much and certainly isn't a resounding endorsement of Danica.

PCA Club racers are amateurs, not paid professional racers. They are not expected to be able to compete at the professional level (although the professional level has become a bit tarnished with 'arrive and drive' paid amateurs.

With enough seat time, sponsorship dollars and support, there are dozens and dozens of current drivers who could outperform Danica....such is the reality of modern motorsports. Gone are the days of a team owner "taking a flyer on a kid"...it's all about who can bring what sponsorship dollars to the table, first and foremost.

Danica is driving for what is likely one of the top 3 teams in the IRL...actually are there any other teams outside of the top 3 in the IRL....it is expected that with the best equipment and support, podiums should occur.

She is a good driver, she makes a lot of mental mistakes, she is taking advantage of the novelty of a female driver in US motorsports...good for her.

I have to agree with the above. Many in the industry say swap Sarah with Danica and you will most likely get the same results if not more from Sarah.

Danica has had premium rides since her Atlantic days, excellence is expected.

I am not certain if Danica passed one car on track yesterday.

Chris,
Do 'many in the industry' comment on how pleasant Danica is to work with, compared to Sarah?
