With 997's getting into the $30's and 996's in the teens, will 993's keep holding the $25-$35 range?

I was comparing this recently too when I was looking for a 996 track car. It seemed the price of a good 996 was getting close to an early 997 and maybe worth the extra $5k or so. I think the 997.2 is going to help push the prices down.
I never really found a super cheap 996 and a few that I looked at were rough. Even though it's a track car I still want something decent.

I would bet that the 993's will continue to hold there own. If a dealer is selling a 997 for 36K, think what he paid for it at the auction he probably bought it at...maybe high 20's?

I have about $50k into my 993 and its probably worth somethere about $30k. Take my $700 a year for insurance, x that by 7 years===$55k
So holding the value doesnt mean much when I have already pissed $25k away. Whats another $10k loss when I have no plans on selling it? Means nothing to me because its just a car. To some it might be a "collectible" but to me its 1 in 561,000 people in the US share the same grin I do each time they drive their 95 C4 993.

I'm on the search again, but due to the recession I am going at it differently. I am about to unload a 69 Camaro SS that I am in to for very little which I will try to attach a photo of. I have been offered a 63 Vette Stingray Convertible for $30k that I may bite at, but neither of these are what I want. So I hope to find a 993 owner that needs to dump the way I am finding these other collectibles.
