Search being what it is now... there was a very recent discussion on bringing black interior back to life. Some mentioned using McGuire's Back to Black. Some mentioned another product for interior, possibly a product designed for boats.
So, what does anyone use? Please do not bother recommending ArmorAll products, I've had my fill of that (not at all intending to be arrogant, but I really hate that stuff).
Not sure I completely understand; if you're looking for a high quality leather conditioner, look into the Zaino version. I swear by all of Zaino's products and I've used the Z-10, exclusively, on the SL500 and TT (black interior). Works and smells great!
If I misunderstood and you're looking for a type of dye or color enhancer, then I wouldn't know... Good luck.
Guys, hear me out. _I do not need to dye the interior panels_! I need a product that would bring back the original black color to vinyl by taking oxydation/faded layer off. These products exist. They are not dyes as I've mentioned in a post above.
Damian, have you ever used Back to Black or a similar product? If so, you will have seen the results on bumpers and moldings. If not, you can see the pictures around. You can also search for "Autoglym" here on 993 board and see the results of a 993 owner treating his black rear grille.
My question is whether people recommend Back to Black on the interior and I'd like to know if there is a better product out there to use. At least one more product was mentioned in the last two months and I can;t find the thread with the sorry search function.
Bart, does 303 protectant get rid of white on black vinyl and does it bring back the deeper black color? I've read good things about it everywhere, but am not sure if it'll do what I need or if it'll just protect from UV after the black is restored.
Details on 303 use and back to Black redults on your interior would be appreciated.
So far I've only used one 303 product - their carpet cleaner, and i was thoroughly unimpressed by it. But there's a huge following, so I'm willing to try the Protectant.
I started a thread a few months ago when the amoral (pun intended) crap I used on my red vinyl caused a milky white mottling to emerge. Based on the recommendations I received, I was successful in using Back to Black to restore the vinyl to its prior condition. It took three applications of rather copious quantities, but it worked. I chose B2B because that's what I had on hand and I didn't have to go to a specialty store or website to get it.
I have been a user of Back to Black for more than a dozen years. It does bring out the black on vinyl and plastics after years of minor fading. If the fading goes too far (black becomes a milky gray to almost white), it will bring it up several levels but might not be black.
Think of it as a creme based ArmorAll with characteristics that help in the restoration of dark colors.
Hope that helps.
You might want to contact carcare Specialities in NJ. They turned me onto this stuff and they are usually spot on in terms of exterior and interior car care.
I have not used B2B in a Porsche interior. Can't say what the results would be, but I always found it to be a temporary cover up instead of a fix. 303 is merely a protectant, I think. Moisturizes and protects from UV after you have to restored to your desired color.
