Bill,
Do you have a part number and rough cost of the A arm ducts off the 996 cups?
Sounds interesting!
Thanks,
Pete

Bob at Sunset told me about some front a-arm ducts. Not sure if they were cup car ones or just street cars. They were cheaper than the 993 ones, though. Maybe less than $10 each?

Probably 997 GT3. These are tiny compared to the 996 Cup. On the 997s, the bumper has an integral brake duct thus reducing the need for the underarm duct requirement. It also cleans up airflow under the car. If this is your only source of air for brake cooling (as it is in the 993s) then you may want a larger duct..

996 GT3 scoop

996GT2 scoop

difference

I run bumper scoops where the fogs were but that's just for oil cooling

Very nice... Thanks!

You are recommending the 996 gt2 or gt3 version? Do I have to fabricate anything to mount these on a 993?

Hehe, I know but you always want MORE, right

Interesting though is the A-arm solution, I bet that is way more effective than the bent tiny hoses cooling from the front..

Original Poster:
If its Big Reds you want, but don't really need the increased stopping power, there's always the "poser" route.... Paint the existing brakes red. A far cheaper solution than retrofit/upgrade/etc.

That said, I bought a C4S partially because of the Big Reds' sex appeal. I was seduced...

Sort of lost track of what is recommended here for a 993...are there stock parts for an a-arm duct?
