96 C2 chip tuning options?
I keep hearing that the possibility of chip-tuning a '96 is difficult. Does this mean impossible or difficult? Supposedly if you install a '97 ECU it becomes possible. Will a 97 ECU work in a '96 without chip tuning? Any personal experience would help. Anyone heard of or dealt with Upsolute. Not my only choice, just looking for some feedback on their product.

With the exception of MY95 technically you cannot "chip" or "rechip" a 993, you can only reflash the chip - except for MY96. For a MY96 your option is to either replace the DME w/a MY97 or MY98, or use a piggyback chip. I've heard of Upsolute but only wrt to other cars...no one on Rennlist has an Upsolute chip to my knowledge.

Does this only apply to US cars? I see many companies advertising new ships for all 993's?
I live in Germany and considering going with Upsolute as they're close to me and will also do the install.
