996 TT or a Mustang Bullitt ?

We are a little biased around here, but I think the 996 TT would be a good buy. Even in Tip. A lot of TT's I see are Tip especially the 997's. I think people with ****ty commutes go for the tip as a compromise.
Not really sold on the Mustang. I'm sure it would be a fun ride, but...

Already a 2 Porsche family 1983 928 S 5-SPD and my 1996 993 C4S 6 -SPD
And a 2004 Tacoma SC 4x4 5-SPD
Looks to be about a 50/50 split so far, but I do appreciate the input. I guess I should ask what you would all think in the 20-30K price range sporty daily driver would be? (other than another 911)

I had one...bailed out b4 the warranty expired. '02's had two (yes, two) conrod bearing "service actions", bad coil packs, etc., ad nauseum. SMG had tendency to lock up and not let you out of "P". If something breaks on that car, it'll suck your wallet dry in a heartbeat. Later ones were sorted out a bit better but stay away from the '02's.

The total cost of ownership of the Mustang will be better. The Bullits handle pretty well. The depreciation on a 996TT has been horrible in the last year or so. Mustangs depreciate fast too, but, a 30% drop in the Mustang is only $7500 whereas a on the Porsche it is $10500.

IMHO the only Mustang worth owning is the Roush. On the other hand, for me the TT's maintenance cost is to high for a daily driver. I would go with a NA 996, the C4S is coming down nicely in price...

If you want reliable fast car for sub 30k what about an 05-06 S4? I am a little partial to japanese for DD for reliablitiy sake but, I dont think those suggestions would fly around here.

The TT will cost more to maintain than a new Mustang. There is a lot to be said about American Muscle in a V8, especially if you work for the dealership! You always have your p-car for the twisties, low end grunt is way fun, but you already know that!
Either way you can't go wrong!
