Thanks for sharing Steve. The Beck Spyder replicas are awesome and the silver turbo with the blue interior is really cool. I was completely out of town opposite direction from Hershey....even got a little lonely for awhile

Have you got your car's handling sorted out now?
I'm not even sure how to answer that, but I will tell you that it handles amazingly well. Maybe it felt so different after the suspension upgrade that, like a new car, it took a while getting used to it.

I haven't really driven it much before Hershey other than once every 2 weeks or so into town and back, so this drive to Pennsylvania was a great bit of fun for me and my uncle.

I'm not sure the trip all the way from Alberta would be worth it just for the Hershey Swap Meet, but if you tied it in with other cool stuff on the east coast for a week, that would make it a perfect trip. There's the museums and monuments of DC or the lights and craziness of NYC.

Thanks for asking,
Steve R

...cool stuff on the east coast...
That's what I had in mind: all that other, extra, cool stuff. And the flight time from Alberta is only about 5 hours. For that matter, we could probably spend a month out there.

Yup, that was me.

Wifey and I left the house (on Long Island, NY) at 5:45AM. The lower half of the George W. bridge was shut down and there was 'maintenance' going on at the Holland tunnel -- so we ended up taking the Verrazano.

Just over 3.5 hrs. later and some 218 miles on the odometer - we pulled into Hershey.

I didn't see any hot-dog stand, but did see the crab-cake place (over by the concours area). At one point I thought I spotted Steve - and even approached the guy - but he replied "NO, my name is NOT Steve!" -- so I took a chill-pill on coming up to people 'unannounced', and, instead, just LOOKING.

Gawd, the weather was just freakin' fabulous. The last time I was at Hershey, it POURED RAIN, and I mean POURED !!! (I think that was 3 yrs. ago.)

BTW, I think I spent a good 30 mins taking all the dead bugs off the front of the car - but, as I did so, I was smiling - remembering "KILLS BUGS FAST!"

Latah,

Gerry

P.S. I posted some pix I took on another thread.

BTW Steve, check your camera. I'm noticing a "magenta/reddish" tinge along the very top of some of your pix.

Thanks for the pics. I'm wishing I went, sounds like a good time was had by all. Instead I went to an Auto-X in NH where I couldnt follow the course. lol. The setup was the most confusing I ever drove on. Red cones on the right of the course green on the left with two crossovers on opposite sides of the cones. About 50% of the competitors had a DNF. One of my runs was the fastest in class even though I went the wrong and longer/slower way around a cone. Oh well... Next year I'll certainly be at Hershey.

Great pix! Thanks. Great event.

I am asking for a friend...

There was a Red 993 C4, high mileage in the for sale lot and he failed to get a contact number or name. Would anyone know the seller?

Any assistance appreciated ... H_D

Gerry - I'm awfully sorry I missed you at the CrabCake Stand. I was right in front of it at 12pm looking for people but I only found 1 gent, and we ended up eating lunch there in front of the stand. I can't believe there wasn't a hot dog stand. Only sausages. Next year, if I still have my car and end up going, I'll make a big sign RENNLIST and hold it up there at noon! As far as the red tint that's on the top of my pics, I really don't know. For all I know, it was my finger! It's an old Digital Elph camera that should be dead by now but it's still going strong, just not taking the best pics I guess.

Glad you made it down for what was a great day.
