The home is in progress. I hope to close on it before the end of the month. In the mean time, i will probably stay at a hotel. I start work on Monday the 11th.
How is the Cabriolet coming along?

It is good to see another R-lister moving to the area. A BBQ is in order.

Al when you get settled in lets at least get out for a dinner instead of you having to stay and eat in a hotel. If jhummel is in town I am sure he would be up for it. Seriousle PM me and we will set it all up.

Hey Louisville Rennlisters!!

I'm on the other side of the water, and we just moved here in December from the Gulf Coast. I just bought a 96' 993 that is going to be a project for me. Does anyone have an OBD II reader that'll read the codes for the 993? My check engine light seems to come on whenever I come to an idle after driving for a while.

I have a generic code reader which has worked great for me on a number of other vehicles, but no dice on some of the later BMW's and the 993.

Thanks !
John

John,
I think Auto Zone will read your code for you. Anything '96 and later should have the same OBD II.

John
Just curious, why is the 993 a project?

John - tried the code reader at Advance Auto Parts, and it only provided an "error" message. Will have to try an autozone.

DougM - Car needs some work. I think a good bit of work :-)

Those readers are generic IMHO. Hit and miss at best as you have experienced. I would take it to

Thanks Mike.
I'll give Brian a call.
I already know the car needs attention to a growing list of things :-)
