Nice! You got me though. I was thinking "Oh no, what did Cactitus do now?":roflmao:

That is the F-18 mod. That afterburner adds another 1,000 lbs of thrust. That's got to be good for 20 - 30 mph on the straights.

A-hole. I thought you left a detailing rag on the engine or something. Cool pic, though!

If so, note the sticker behind the left rear wheel on the bumper: Sportec. Their website: sportec.ch. Rennlist member & author Adrian Streather lives in Switzerland. Here's his 964 C4 on the same dyno: http://www.adrianstreather.com/image...y-2004-022.gif A GT1 on the same dyno: http://www.autops.co.uk/assets/image...no_300x295.jpg |
Ah yes, I know Sportec. Very cool pics, all!

This thread is hot!

So what does it take to make flames? Turbos and no muffs? Race fuel?

So what does it take to make flames? Turbos and no muffs? Race fuel? Why/What/ How is this happening? |
+1 on inquiring minds want to know... Why/What/ How is this happening?
Basically a hot exhaust with un-burnt fuel inside and upon lift-off oxygen enters and ignites the un-burnt fuel and when the gas pedal is pressed again upon moving on to next gear the flames exit the tail pipes – more common with Turbo cars. Or one of these stupid ricer things: http://www.cruising4pussy.co.uk/stor...roducts_id/108 :surr: |
I have lots more pics I've taken at Sportec if anybody is interested to see |
I routinely produced flames but they were always blue (indicating the correct mixture) and were usually (as reported to me) when upshifting. I ran a single turbo, non-intercooled, with a 3.0 engine. Downstream of the turbo was a length of exhaust pipe, bent roughly in the middle, and that served as the muffler. It exited out the left (proper) side on my 1981. What a great sound, that engine had.

I'll never forget the first time I was invited to one of the Tri-State Renlister's "Fun Runs".
I was behind one of the turbo cars on an interesting section of road. Because my car is considerably slower, I was braking deeper into the corners while trying to keep up. I got pretty close to the turbo car in front of me on the way into one of the corners. He lifted off the throttle, and a huge flame shot out of his tailpipes, aimed right at my front bumper. I made sure I gave him plenty of room after that. :) --Chuck-- |

There are only 2 reasons why I want a 930.
1. the wide ass. 2. the fireball coming out of it on decel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX7MXG2QyQU |
