Default Tune any Bosch ECU youself?

I don't know much about this stuff but it looks like BMW supertuner Jim Conforti is releasing a product to edit the maps in any Bosch ECU.

Discuss?

If one doesn't really know what they are doing, such a product leads down the road to perdition,....

The consequences of experimentation with fuel & timing maps can be very expensive.

I haven't seen your links yet but this could be great news! Can't wait to hear more. And I can't believe it took this long for something like this.

It looks like he charges one price for the software (300) and then another for the decoder and checksums for each ECU version. (100 for Motronic 5.2). Isn't 1995 an earlier version of motronic? might not be supported anyway. This doesn't come with an eprom burner either so there's another few hundred. He does electronic support at 1K per year if you're scratching your head....

This stuff has been around for years! I worked with Jim with the some old M3 tuning, it was a royal PITA, & the software is not very user friendly.

Your far better off getting a piggy back ECU with a GIU interface that has 3d fuel & ing maps.

There is also other Motronic tuning software out there, that's free, but you almost need to be a programer to use it.
