Owning a Ferrari has always been a dream on mine, especially the 328.

Back in 2000, my brother was looking at purchasing a 348 and I was looking at a 328.

After a few months of searching and negotiating, my brother ended up with a 348SS and I ended up with a Testarossa. He loved the 348 and I got to drive it quite a bit and also loved the car. As for my Testarossa, after a couple of months if ownership (and a $10k repair bill) I realized that it was not the car for me. At the end my brother sold his 348SS (I should have kept that car instead of my Testarossa) and I kep the Testarossa for another year and sold it and bought the 993TT that I have now.

Ferrari's are great cars and looks great, but you really need to have some $$$ set aside for repairs, etc.

I for one would probably never get another one unless I win the lottery, a $10k repair bill is just too rich for my blood.

Cheers.
I wish I lived in the area for such an opportunity. My angst with the lower cost Ferrari 3 series isn't disdain; rather its for want. Refreshing a Porsche that starts out as more than a t*rd is viable for most who have a bit of cash and skill. I would like to get involved with the 3x8 community but Ferrari conspires against rehabilitating a sad example.

Oh...what Alfa?

I think an apples to apples comparison with the 993 would be the 355, as they were contemporaries. I believe the 355 also had a similarly hallowed spot within the Ferrari pantheon as the culmination of the 308/328/348 lineage. Performance wise, I forget whether the 993 tops the 355 or the other way around.

I saw a beautiful black 355 at Ferrari of Atlanta last November/December. It was talking to me.....
