Sounds real good! I have a neighbor who runs RSR's on a stock cat, and they sound pretty similar to me I have stock cat with motorsound and also fabspeed cat bypass. Got a nice throaty rumble at idle and when you open it up (4500RPM and up), it'll give you goosebumps. I got the fabspeed because I like it loud and proud!

A little bit of added noise from the drilled airbox, but that's fairly minimum.

I have the motorsound pkg..... so that included the Air Box cover and the bigger internal by pass tube. Coming from a Carrera 3.2 and 911SC both with Borla exhaust the motorsound was too quiet for my liking.

So I took it to Darin Fister had the Stage II modified to my Motorsound........Now it sounds like it was suppose to sound IMO. Nice rumble a start up and at WOT nice mean sound. Best thing about it no resonance or Droning sound in the cabin.

I would forget about the Motorsound and do the Stage II at least.

motorsound was also too quite for me. I drilled more/bigger holes, that actually mad a big difference at WOT, but still to quite. Then I got RSR's; still to quiet. then I added cat bypass pipes, now it's just right (my neighbors may not agree).

Motorsound sounds good if you have no muffler. If you get a loader muffler later on, you wont hear the airbox anymore.

Motorsound is a nice place to start...or get the FABSPEED airbox cover. It's basically a frame to keep the air cleaner element from falling out. Then work on the exhaust if you're so inclined. There a few nice mufflers and systems out there and a lot depends on just how loud you prefer, where you live and what you can get away with. As for me, "tunes" mean nothing, exhaust note is everything and I have a wife who enjoys the sound of a great engine.

Found this out when I recently put a Motorsound airbox cover on my Supercup equipped 95. The roar of the exhaust drowns out the increased intake sound produced by the airbox cover.

I have the motorsound package and it was too quiet. I have the Fister stage 1s (LPPM) and that is much better, but still too quiet for my liking. I'll be moving up to Fister stage 2 or 3 when I get around to it.

Well I just have stock mufflers, but I put in the motorsound airbox, and it was a great upgrade!. Sounds much richer above 4k.

It was also ultra-easy to install. I think it took me about 10 mins max, and someone with a vague idea of what they're doing could probably do it in 1-2 mins!.

Cheap to do, and well worth the result.

Why spend money. Drill 6 one inch holes in the airbox cover and presto you have the same sound. Years ago it was reported at PCA tech Tactics by none other than Bruce Anderson that they saw as much as HP increase on the dyno with the holes. Apparently to meet Swiss noise regs the stock airbox is a bit restrictive. The Motorsound option was not available in all countries, notably those with serious drive-by noise restrictions.

If anybody wants an OEM drilled airbox cover, I've got a spare. Ended up with two somehow.

I like mine fine.

I've been dying to go Fister Stage II or III, but I would drive off the last of my civilian passengers, so I have to stand pat.

Actually, Stage IIs are very mild in the cabin. Very "wife" friendly
Stage IIIs are even very livable inside, compared to what is going on outside You can hear the stereo and talk at a normal volume, no problem.
