Our new family car (Is a Porsche)
We picked out our replacement family car today. We have too many old cars as family car (a 2000 BMW 328i and a 96 Range Rover) so we decided to consolidate. We looked at X5, Range Rover Sport, Mercedes R and ML class all used around 06-07 range under $40k. Finally what caught the wife's eye was this Red 06 Titanium edition Cayenne. She never cared much for Porsches, but for some reason this "BIG RED" caught her eye, she couldn't stop thinking about it.
So.... we drove her home today. It is an 06 drum roll..... only with 3000 miles. Practically brand new, various options, smoked brake light lens, factory red caliper, 19" wheels, chrome rims (which I don't really care for), and supposely bunch of other options which I am still trying to figure out.
We paid high market value. ($40k) But she wanted a "new" car for 40K, this was the closest thing there was. It drives, smells, and feels like a brand new car.
Now, anyone interested in a 1996 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with 56k miles???

Three Wheelin'
Congrats Robin! I cant believe the price - good job! When you are ready to go 4 wheeling let me know. Ive seen those in action and they are great off road.
Ive got to ask - was the RR too much maintenance / not as much fun wrenching on? When you first got it, seemed like you sorted the suspension no problem, but did not hear much after that (mostly because I havent been on the board much).

LOL! Can't believe you guys focused on the dog. That's our 13 year old Collie dog, we shave her every year around spring time. Too hot around here in CA, she is an indoor dog so it's ok.
I don't dig the wheels, but the tires only have 3k miles on them... So....
TJ, you haven't heard much about the RR because after I replaced everything that should have been replaced she runs great. I just get in and drive it from point A and B put gas in her that' all. Got the EAS system all figured out and someone was able to hack the system and provided the shareware software so anyone can reset the system with just a laptop and a special cable. So no more getting stuck, the EAS system actually is fairly robust, would require many major malfunctions before it goes into the limp mode. But in any case just a simple reset counter start from 0 again. The old RR P38 is a good work horse, now I understand why so many people are still hanging on to their old ones. But I must sell it to make room, or else the neighbors would think I am running a used car lot or something.

Congratz, Meistro!
Now you have 2 P-car... Btw, do you miss that red 993?
Anyways, enjoy and see you around, I think we Scal Rennlisters should have a get together somewhere, sometime soon...

Stefan,
Yeah now we are back to 2 p-car status. Actually I don't miss my red 993 at all because I always have a 993 in somewhat of taken apart status in my garage. And you know I enjoy working on them than driving them.
Here is the latest one....

Burning Brakes
Very nice Robin, I really like the red on that truck and probably for obvious reasons. I picked up the Cayenne's distant cousin last week 2009 Touareg 2 and I really like it.
