My own was done by Claire 5 years ago and they did a good job. They have since been sold and are named something like Prime or Porsche of Westwood now, but I think their body shop is the same.

Hey all,
Got an update. I finally got the bushings replaced and the control arms are looking sweet. I ordered Bilstein HD's as well as the M030 sways and drop links from Bob today. I got talked into the sway bars as I wasn't originally going to do so. I am really getting excited about driving the car after this is all set up. I am going to be sending out my calipers this week to Powdertech Plus in Florida for the refinishing. I was originally going to sandblast them myself, but for the sake of time, I think I will just pay the incremental amount for them to do it. I will be ordering the remainder of the parts from Sunset tomorrow, including new rear track control arms which I am not looking forward to at $200+ a pop... Tell me why someone hasn't invented replacement boots? Talk about a gold mine. Anyway, I am slated to install the suspension this weekend and will keep you all updated on the progress. Thanks for the on the spot advice and support!
Regards,
Kevin
P.s. My camera died in the middle of taking new shots so pics will need to wait till next weekend!

Kevin, do you know who's going to do your alignment and what alignment specs you are going to use? This is a critical step. As you probably know the rear kinematic adjustment is not trivial and requires someone who knows 993s.

Mike,
I plan on using Jerry at EPE for the alignment. Bob as well as a lot of others (including you I believe) have recommended him. I plan on using Bob's specs for street-use. Who did yours?

Andreas -
They quoted me $75 per caliper, plus shipping there (they cover it on the way back). I did a price check with a local PC shop and they quoted me $60 per caliper but told me I had to remove the pistons due to excessive heat (not like they don't see excessive heat already). As Powdertech doesn't require this I felt like it was on less headache and worth the $60 dollars. Turn around time is about a week.

Jerry and his people most definitely know what they are doing, they are not far away, so you'll be in good hands there.

I believe that Mark did the corner balance on mine. For some reason $300 number comes to mind for corner balancing and alignment. But they did a bunch of things at the same time and I can't find the actual receipt, so this is from memory.
To tell you the truth, corner balancing for street car, while it sounds very coll and all that, is not all that necessary. That's my opinion and I agree with Bob here.

I know about Turbo tie-rods (upgrade) for the G50 and earlier 911's (not sure about 964's) but have never heard of a turbo tie-rod upgrade to the 993. Is this another mod I need to schedule for my car?

Bill,
To be honest, I was going to do a "while you were in there" with them, however with speaking with Bob today he said that as long as the boots are cracked not to bother. So he saved me $300.00 which I immediately used to buy M030 sways!

Hey guys,
Got my new suspension today and was was planning to install until I realized per the 993 technician repair manual, many little parts are supposed to be replaced during re-installation. Most of the parts are lock nuts and washers as well as the 4 bolts for the front suspension. For those of you that have performed this installation, did you replace all these pieces before re-installing? It's not a ton of $$ to order these but it does add up and kills my schedule. Just in case anyone is wondering I have attached an order form from my PET 6.0 program with all the parts in question
Thanks in advance,
Kevin
