OT: Old Mosport Formula 1 Photo
I was doing some cleaning up around the house recently and came across this old photo that my father took when he and I were at a Formula 1 race at Mosport International Raceway way back when. The photo has to be at least 25 years old, maybe more, but I always liked it and thought I'd share it (maybe someone more knowledgeable can discern the year from the layout of the car). Does anyone have any idea who the driver of this car is?

Well, you said it's Mosport, so that makes things a lot easier. "Banco........Brazil" narrows it down further. First glance would tell me the car looks like 1972-73 vintage. So.........wikipedia to the rescue!

#29 is listed to Carlos Pace in a March-Cosworth. Poor guy went down in a plane crash in the late '70's. The Brazilian track is named after him.

Ken, I'm impressed with your sleuthing abilities!! Thanks a lot for the info. Some legendary names on the grid that day. Too bad I was too young at the time to really appreciate it.

Very good eye race911
Yes, it is in fact the Brazilian Carlos Pace in 1972. Here is another picture during the same year season in another circuit.
By the way, your photo was taken during the US Grand Prix. He started #15 on the grid but he retired from the race after 48 laps due to fuel system problems.
There is some history for your picture. Time to frame it and hang it some place!

Actually there is no hill at that location currently. The grand stands are there right now. I wasn't even born when that pic was taken so I can't speculate about the topography back then.
