Default Help-need a control arm

I am in process of converting my 964 to a 993 front suspension. Turns out, the ball joint pivot cannot be updated to the 993 one, meaning I cannot use the ball joint. So, looking for a control arm. Would prefer one with bad bushings, don't need air deflector or ball joint. Pm with info. Thanks.

Will look around the shop. I did find a brand new one that already went to a Rennlister recently. But more could be hidden...

You mean the caster eccentric? If so what did the other guys that have done this project do. I know that the most recent one was Kurt Urequhart .

Kurt's thread

and Roadsleeper is currently doing this in HK, Roadsleeper's

Huh, did not read all the way. The ball joints are the same except for maybe diameter of the pin into the upright? When I have replaced them on 964s, I also installed the RS uprights like the 2 guys in your threads Bill. I just used 993 parts at that point for the ball joint.

The ball joint pivot stud [in the arm] is smaller diameter on the 964 control arms.

That is what I thought could be the only difference. Since I always installed the RS uprights, I always used the 993 ball joints on the 964 control arms. The stock 964 uprights are kind of wimpy looking when compared to the 993.... Also the lower pivot bolt on the stock 964 upright (the part that bolts to the front strut) is smaller than the 993.. So to install 993 HDs with more thread onto a 964, all you need is a drill....

Chris is right. That is the issue that I have. I already have a 993 arm on the pass side(due to an earlier incident) with a 993 ball joint, and wanted to install a 993 ball joint on the drivers side while everything is apart. The pressed in stud is too large for the 964 arm. After talking with chris and a couple others, I am just going to enlarge the hole slightly for the 993 stud. Looks to be what Porsche did, as other than that the arms appear the same. So, suspension should be on the car tonight.

I actually used 993 strut housings, as I have Koni inserts, so I just swapped them.
