I just found it. It is still in the Tequipment box. There are NO instruction sheets, but it is plug and play. The part # off the box is 955-044-900-54. This is the better model with the mode button for motorcycle and car and the light for 1/2 or full charge on the battery. I can submit a pic if you like. It came with my car ans is in new condition.

Your other option is to buy something like a CTEK 3300 and install the harness onto the battery. The harness just tucks away when not in use. All you have to do to charge is open the trunk and plug into the harness (no alligator clips). IIRC they sell for under $100.

For $44.00 shipped you can get a new Deltran BatteryTender Plus;
http://cgi.ebay.com/DELTRAN-BATTERY-...1%7C240%3A1318

Then add on another $6.00 and you can get the cigarette lighter connector shipped too.

$50.00 and you're good to go. This is the set up I have on my Boxster S and it works great. Good luck.....

it keeps the battery fresh with a trickle charge. It won't do anything for a dead battery. I have the Porsche charger and love it. Does the job and has a little light that shuts off when the battery is at full charge. Comes back on even if you've just opened the door and the key light was the only thing to come on.......its cool :thumpup:

+1 for the DELTRAN Plus and the cig. lighter attachment. I have four of them (lots of cars that sit idle). BTW, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the trunk light stay on if the latch isn't completely closed?

Yes it does. I simple close the trunk on the cable...the "junction" where the trunk meets the front bumper has that rubber seal piece and the cable does just fine when the hood is closed...you can actually slide the cable back and forth with the trunk closed, so it doesn't close down on it tight at all. I got the tip from others on here...totally skeptical about th idea to start with, but it's been great for about 8 years now.

BTW...I've got the Deltran unit shown above in post #5...and I'm wanting to sell it to get a 3-battery maintainer. So if anyone is looking to buy one cheap...it's for sale.

I have a deltran that came w/ my car, but it looks like it's all built into the plug that goes into the 110 outlet. It's just that transformer with a connector to plug into the wires attached to the battery. Never used it because it seemed a bit hokey and frankly, I drive it enough that it hasn't been a problem.

+2, have had a Battery Tender for 10+ yrs, used them on boats, motorcycles and Porsches. I've got the pigtail connection directly wired to the battery. Yes it does leave the trunk light on (and the light above the ignition key too) but the way to get around that is push the latch for trunk down w/out fully closing the trunk lid. Just requires you to remember to pul the trunk release when you unplug the connection and before closing the trunk.

+1, so simple and easy to use and reliable. Never understand the need to attach the charger to the battery and run the wires into the trunk.

For me, having the window open is a bad option...insects, dust, the "smell" leaking out of the car. I have mine hardwired to the battery terminals, the plug w/cap is fed up through the front panel and sticks out about 4 inches. I park the car where the front is right next to the shelf that the charger sits on. I pop the trunk, plug the charger cable plug into the battery cable plug, close the trunk, and it's good to go...really can't get much easier than that...

The window doesn't have to be open. I have mine next to the car. Pull up the car next to it, grab it and plug it in and roll up the window to almost completely closing (1/4 inch gap) and done (you can still open the door to get out). Reverse order for going.
